Man has sinned against God, (perfection is needed and there are no perfect people).

Jesus has said,

"Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect."  (The problem is, no one is perfect) Matthew 5:48

"We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all." Isaiah 53:6

"There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one." Romans 3:11-12 NIV

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

There is a penalty for sin (lack of perfection).

"Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned." Romans 5:12

"For the wages of sin is death." Romans 6:23

"If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire."Revelation 20:15

"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God?" 1 Corinthians 6:9

Jesus took our place (paid the penalty that was due) by dying on the cross.

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 NIV

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." John 3:16-18

"For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God." 1 Peter 1:18-21

By Grace alone (an undeserved Gift) through Faith alone (Trust) in Christ alone, you can be saved.   Salvation is NOT found in a religion or by good works, it is only found in Jesus...

"And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." 1 John 5:11-13

"Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved." Acts 16:30-31

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13

"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9

"Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law. You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:25-26

Call on the name of the Lord.

Admit that you have sinned against God.

Admit that you need Him to forgive you to escape eternal death.

Ask Jesus to take over your life, so that He becomes Lord and King.

Turn away from your sin and turn toward the Lord.

You might say a prayer like this . . .

Dear Jesus,

I know that I am a sinner and that I have not followed your will for my life. Please forgive me of the sins that I have committed. I am trusting in you and what you did for me on the cross by dying in my place. Jesus I know that you are God and you chose to die and cover my sin; and I am accepting your sacrifice. You are my Savior and Lord. Thank you.

If you have said this prayer and truly meant it from your heart, the Bible declares that you can KNOW that you are saved.

"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." 1 John 5:11-13

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13

"That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9

May the Lord richly bless you as you seek after Him.
