Alan and Sandy were both raised in Christian families and came to know the Lord as children. They remember realizing that they needed to personally trust in Juesus' death and resurrection on their behalf and to not trust in their own efforts to be good.
They met at Christian Heritage College (now San Diego Christian College) where they received their Bible training. Alan graduated with a degree in Intercultural Studies. Sandy earned her degree in Home Economics with a minor in Biblical Counseling. Alan also holds a Master of Religious Studies fromSouthern California Seminary, and a basic certificate in Applied Linguistics (ESL) from San Diego State University.
Alan and Sandy began their overseas ministry when they flew to the country of Turkey on Thanksgiving Day. They served there from 1986 to 2010. They were involved in evangelistic, chronological Bible teaching, church planting, and translation of biblical creationism books into Turkish. In 2012, they and their co-workers taught two GoodSeed TERM seminars there, which resulted in local Christians starting more evangelistic chronological Bible studies with unbelievers.
They have three wonderful children and five amazing grandchildren.
Alan and Sandy have enjoyed helping GoodSeed International in the Translation and editing department since 2011. In 2014, they moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to continue serving in the translation department at the GoodSeed USA headquarters. GoodSeed translation projects, which are done in partnership with native speakers and overseas Christian workers, indclude languages spoken in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia and the Americas.
Over the years, Sandy has enjoyed using crafts and having tea parties in her outreach to women. She helps with hospitality, event planning, and computer work in the translation department. The Whites' greates joy is to see those who are burdened with the demands of religion and the guilt of sin find rest and salvation in the gospel of grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Mt. 11:28-30); Jn. 8:36).
